- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tbsp whole milk
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp hot water
Instructions:
- In a 12-ounce microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until the mixture is a uniform color and no clumps remain.
- Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a fork, ensuring you scrape the bottom corners, until the batter is smooth. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the tablespoon of hot water or coffee directly into the center of the batter. Do not stir it in.
- Microwave on high for 60 to 75 seconds. The cake is ready when the edges are matte and set, but the center still appears slightly damp. Allow to rest for 2 minutes before eating.
