Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken breasts completely dry with paper towels. Note: This ensures the crust doesn't slide off.
- Drizzle 1 tbsp olive oil over the breasts and toss to coat lightly.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tbsp packed brown sugar, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, and 1/4 tsp onion powder.
- Press the rub firmly into both sides of the chicken breasts. Note: Use your palms to really push the sugar into the meat.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Place the chicken in the basket in a single layer. Note: Don't overlap them, or they will steam instead of crisp.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes until the top is starting to brown.
- Flip the chicken and cook for another 8-10 minutes until the exterior is mahogany colored and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the chicken to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes.
